Elena Stikhina

Born in Lesnoy, award-winning Russian soprano Elena Stikhina is regarded as one of the leading sopranos of her generation.

She is regularly invited to renowned opera houses such as the Metropolitan Opera in New York, La Scala in Milan, the Opéra National de Paris, the Vienna State Opera, the Bavarian State Opera, the Salzburg Festival, and the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London, to name just a few.

In the 2025/26 season she will sing the title role in Tosca at the Dutch National Opera in Amsterdam, at the Vienna State Opera, and at the Paris Opéra. Further appearances include the title role in Tchaikovsky’s The Maid of Orleans in Amsterdam, Salome at the Lyric Opera of Chicago, Cio-Cio-San (Madama Butterfly) at Deutsche Oper Berlin and the Met in New York, Senta (Der fliegende Holländer) and Elisabetta (Don Carlo) at the Vienna State Opera, as well as Amelia (Un ballo in maschera) at Opernhaus Zürich.

Elena Stikhina studied at the Moscow Conservatory and at the Galina Vishnevskaya Opera Singing Centre. After her first appearances on the Primorsky Stage of the Mariinsky Theatre in Vladivostok, she made her debut at the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg as Salome, subsequently becoming a member of the Mariinsky ensemble.
