Frédéric Chaslin

FRÉDÉRIC CHASLIN was assistant to Daniel Barenboim at the Orchestre de Paris and the Bayreuth Festival from 1987-1989, and in 1989 became assistant to Pierre Boulez at the Ensemble Intercontemporain until 1991, when he became music director of the Rouen Opera (1991-1994), the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra (1998-2001), the National Theater Mannheim (2004-2007), the Santa Fe Opera (2009-2013), and again the Jerusalem Symphony Orchestra (2011-2019). As an opera conductor, he appears regularly at the New York Metropolitan Opera, Los Angeles Opera, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Bavarian State Opera, Milan's La Scala, as well as in Leipzig, Dresden, Madrid, Bologna, Rome, Venice, Turin, Tokyo, Oslo and Copenhagen. He made his debut in Austria in 1993 at the Bregenz Festival with Nabucco and Fidelio. Since 1997 he has been a regular guest conductor at the Vienna State Opera, where he has conducted nearly 250 performances of 34 different titles. As a composer, Frédéric Chaslin is published by Universal Edition, Vienna with over 250 works, including 5 operas. He is also a sought-after author and pianist.
